I have changed the format of the Best of series three times. Currently I am listing my Ten Favorite knives and then Ten Favorite flashlights. There should be something for everyone at any price range on these most recent iterations of the list (starting in 2019). If something made this list, its great, no reservations. Not everything that gets a Perfect is here because sometimes there is a significant amount of overlap in a given product category or size (for example, I love both the Dragonfly and the Native, but the Dragonfly is a better knife…)

I have also started keeping track of the very best stuff that has held up for years. I call these products Hall of Fame products. Some are still being made, many will require some legwork. All are worth the effort. These are the very best items that time has proven to me to be truly superior.
